The special economic zone of Imam Khomeini port with an area of 11044 hectares is located in the northwest of the Persian Gulf and at the end of the Musa estuary. Due to the unique advantages of this port, including being close to 70% of the important industrial and demographic centers of Iran, vicinity to the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone and Arvand Free Trade Zone, being located in the shortest and safest land route from Iraq, Turkey, the Caucasus region and Central Asia to the countries of Southeast Asia, this port is one of the most important commercial centers of Iran and the region.
