Potash Khor and Biabanak Complex
The Khor Potash Complex is the first producer of potash in Iran and has one of the largest reserves of mineral salts in the Middle East. This complex is located in the central desert of Iran, 450 kilometers east of the center of Isfahan province and 25 kilometers from Khor and Biabanak counties. It has been put into operation to produce 50,000 tons of potassium chloride as a chemical fertilizer annually, 300,000 tons of sodium chloride for petrochemical, food, and pharmaceutical uses, and 30,000 tons of magnesium hydroxide. Among the key products of this complex are calcium chloride and magnesium hydroxide.
Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Hydroxide Extraction Plant Project as EPC
Basic and detailed design, engineering, procurement and construction of a calcium chloride and magnesium hydroxide extraction plant were carried out between 2007 and 2018 under the trade of the Iranian Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) at the Potash Khor and Biabanak Complex in Isfahan Province. The project included the construction of a plant with an area of 200,000 square meters and a height of 30 meters. This mega-project was implemented for the first time in the country using Iranian engineering capabilities and in cooperation with international companies including NOVOPRO Canada.
Feasibility Studies for Sodium Carbonate Project and Mineral Production (E)
Technical, economic and financial feasibility studies were conducted for the sodium carbonate project and edible and industrial salt washing plant to identify project dimensions and evaluate its successful implementation.
Design of Power Plant Building for Potash Reserves Exploration and Equipment Project (E)
The first and second phases of the power plant building design were carried out as part of the construction requirements for the calcium chloride and magnesium hydroxide extraction plant at the Potash Khor and Biabanak Complex.
Purchase of Vertical Turbine Electric Pumps (P)
Purchase engineering, procurement and supply of vertical turbine electric pumps related to the salt extraction plant construction project were performed by ITCEN Company.
Technology Consulting and Project Control (E)
Consulting services were provided for technology development and project control activities related to potassium chloride, magnesium hydroxide and table salt production projects.
Design of Khor Guest House Building (E)
First and second phase design services for guest house buildings located at the Potash Khor and Biabanak Complex were carried out as part of the project development activities.
